A World Away is a private luxury lakefront retreat on Lake Anna’s public side, set on 3.5 acres with 600 feet of shoreline and sweeping views. This ~7,567 sq ft estate features 8 bedrooms (5 suites), ideal for executive retreats, large gatherings, and multi-family stays. Enjoy a deck, hot tub, firepit, sandy beach, and a full game room with theater, pool table, ping pong, and foosball, plus direct access to boating, swimming, and fishing—offering rare privacy and a true D.C. escape.

- Quiet Hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM.
- 16 Adults Maximum

- No Events Allowed without specific prior approval.
- No Pets Allowed without specific prior approval.
Guest Requirements:
Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.
Important: Before check-in, the primary guest must complete our Guest Verification process. This helps us comply with short-term rental regulations and provides added protection for guests and the property.
After booking, you will receive a secure link to complete verification. Please complete it prior to arrival to ensure a smooth, quick check-in.
Damage protection is required for every reservation, regardless of where you booked. During verification, you will choose one of the following options:
- $45 per night non-refundable damage waiver (recommended): no security hold and a simpler, faster process.
- $3,000 refundable security deposit: requires a hold on a card and may take several business days to release after check-out, subject to any damage charges.
We use Yale keyless entry smart door locks and give you space but are available if you have any questions or need anything.

We had an amazing stay and enjoyed the ability to spread out as a group. The view was simply amazing, and the house had everything we needed. The hot tub was an added plus, as was the firepit which we enjoyed one evening. Open living area which was nice for the group. Plenty of parking and things to keep us busy. Would highly recommend this home for a big family who also wants personal space. The apartment like rooms made it easy to have private time.
Fantastic stay with many built in activities to the house!
My family had such an amazing week at the lake house. First time to the area and we definitely plan on returning. The house was huge and plenty of room to spread out. It was so perfect for our young kids, equipped with everything we needed and so many activities/games for the whole family. The kids playroom was a huge bonus. Having paddle boards and a kayak and canoe meant we could paddle out together whenever. The little beach was also great for the kids to play on. The house is very private and very peaceful. Host was very communicative and proactive. 10/10
